As a busy dentist in Calgary, I usually have my hands full (literally!) at the office. And even when I’m not helping improve smiles here, I volunteer my services to those who need dental care in underdeveloped parts of the world.
So … it’s tough to find “free” time. But whenever I manage to get a window of time, I like to make good use of it.
In this blog, I’ll let you peek into my world when I’m not practicing dentistry. You may find we have some things in common!
I’m proud to say that I have a green thumb. During the spring and summer months, I spend as much time as possible in the garden. main selling point is the outdoors. Hearing the birds sing, breathing in the fresh air, and putting my hands in the soil make it a very relaxing and rejuvenating experience. It gives me the chance to become one with the natural environment around me
Once I’m done puttering around the garden, I like to spend quality time seated behind my piano. Now, I’m no Elton John or Billy Joel – but I do my best! I love the challenge of learning a new song and the feeling of accomplishment after I’ve mastered one.
Music has been a lifelong interest of mine. So astronomy. I’m very fascinated by all the planets and galaxies … that are far, far away. We are surrounded by a vast universe, much of which is yet to be discovered
I stay active during the winter months by strapping on my skis and hitting the hill … or mountains, I should say. With the massive snow-covered Canadian Rockies in my backyard, it’s a winter enthusiast’s dream come true. Some of my places to carve through fresh power are Sunshine Village Ski Resort in Banff, Lake Louise Ski Resort, and Panorama Mountain Resort in BC. My family joins me for many of these trips
So now that you have a better idea of what I get up to when I’m not helping you get the best smile ever, I’d love to hear about your pastimes and top travel spots. Share them with me during your next visit to West Wind Dental!
